ABSTRACT

Guided wave testing has been in the market for a number of years and provides an effective screening solution to identify areas on cross sectional defects along the length of a pipeline. The technique provides the most efficient method for covering large volumes of surface area and to help identify areas of concern for follow validation. GWT or LRUT uses ultrasonic wave forms transmitted down the length of the pipe to detect and interpret return signals for anomalies.

The Sonyks, recently launched by Eddyfi Technologies, builds on years of practical experience in the guided wave market by revolutionizing the acquisition package for optimum data collection. The portable instrument includes the latest electronics and signal processing for best-in-class data acquisition capabilities. The onboard software has been specifically designed to simplify the data collection and analysis processes to improve both productivity and POD.
